“At last, a group (Makuri) focused on one of the most overlooked areas of mineral processing – wear parts in stationary equipment.  For those of us with a background in operations and engineering, wear problems, whether it be with chutes, crushers, feeders, etc., was simply something that the maintenance group would eventually fix, and the impact on availability was simply something that we had to live with, or learned to live with.
Now we have a group whose sole focus is the design, development and implementation of better wear parts and wear systems.  Some of the concepts and ideas are nothing short of revolutionary.  In the future I would hope to see these technologies incorporated in the process design & plant design stage of a project, to yield significant long term savings in Total Operating Costs.”
